Summer Program 2010

What? A three-week intensive summer camp for mathematically gifted students from around the globe. An initiative in response to parents and teachers of bright students who have not yet shone at the Olympiad level, as well as of those who would like to expand what they have learned in programs such as MATHCOUNTS. These talented students wish to hone their problem solving skills in particular and further their mathematics education in general. Many of our participants seek to improve their performance on contests such as AMC10/12, AIME, or USAMO.

Why? To offer gifted math students the opportunity to attend a high-quality summer program.

When? July 6 – 27, 2010 and July 30 – August 20, 2010.

Who? Around 80 students in grades 6-11, distinguished faculty, a large group of mentors and assistants.
Where? At the University of Texas at Dallas (7/6-7/27) and the University of California, Santa Cruz (7/30-8/20).

  • Year-Round Program

    AMY provides students with further opportunities to broaden their mathematical horizons particularly in those fields from where Olympiad problems are drawn. Rather than concentrating solely on problem solving, the material covered familiarizes students with important mathematical concepts and widely applicable methods of proof. AMY extends and solidifies the mathematics learned during the AwesomeMath Summer Program (AMSP). In turn, the next AMSP re-energizes students by bringing them together with instructors and their peers.

  • Mathematical Reflections

    We encourage everyone to use Mathematical Reflections as a source to develop problem solving skills. Our journal continues to provide you with quality resources for math competitions and enrichment. Please send us your comments and suggestions. We want to know what you would like to see in the journal most and what changes should be made. The journal invites submissions from students, instructors, and math enthusiasts from all over the globe.

  • XYZ Press

    This book is the fruit of collaboration of two experienced and enthusiastic mathematicians: Dr. Titu Andreescu and Gabriel Dospinescu. It is for students preparing for national and international mathematical Olympiads, their coaches, as well as anyone interested in furthering their mathematics education.
